San Marcos River

The San Marcos River, largely spring-fed by San Marcos Springs, is a unique floating experience thorough the City of San Marcos. Your float trip begins just below the dam for Spring Lake. The first stretch briskly takes you past the Texas State University Campus. Soon, the river slows to a leisurely pace as you float through San Marcos' municipal park. Eventually, you reach a moderate sized dam with a "tube chute," which provides an exciting end to your float trip. You exit the downriver from the tube chute at a small park with picnic tables.
